A rookie is someone who has never raced before or who has been out of the drivers seat
for a minimum of 5 years. Also, if you move up to a new class, then you are considered
a rookie in that class.Rookie status will be based on previous experience.
To be a rookie you must register at the beginning of the year with Okanagan Street Stock
Club, as a rookie. Your name will be recorded as such, and you will get points towards
the rookie points championship on the days you yourself time in and race your car. Any
days you do not time in your car or any races you do not drive in, you will not get
points toward the rookie of the year championship.
"Rookie of the Year" award will be presented to the driver who, in a single points season, competes in over 80% of the regular season point events and accumulates the most points.A bonus of 10 points will be awarded to any rookie the first time that driver wins a feature.
Drivers competing in more than three (3)events (feature events combined) in the division they have entered will not be eligible to register and compete for rookie of the year award.
